Community Development Programs
Butler County receives a Federal Allocation through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on an annual basis through the following programs:
- Down Payment Assistance
- Demolition Program
- Home Repair
Down Payment Assistance
The purpose of this program is to make down payment assistance to low-income families who are first-time homebuyers for the purchase of single family housing that will serve as the family’s principal residence.
The Down payment Assistance program is administered by Neighborhood Housing Services of Hamilton (NHS), on behalf of the Butler County / City of Middletown HOME Consortium. The residence to be purchased must be located within the Butler County Entitlement and Consortium area, excluing the city of Hamilton.

Demolition of units which are deemed a public nuisance and health hazard through the Health Department, local Fire Department(s), or Building Department. These units are demolished through either owner consent or by court order. Units must be outside the city limits of Hamilton & Middletown within Butler County. contact our office of Community Development for more information.

- Furnace Replacement / Repair
